?LAUGHING Gas?, an hilarious new play by Nick Darke, is being presented by o-region at Nicholls Hall, Lydford tonight (Thursday) and at Calstock Village Hall, on Saturday, September 24. The late and much loved Nick Darke wrote over twenty plays, which have been produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal Court and the BBC, amongst others. The Cornish based o-region company was founded in 2002 by Carl Grose, Simon Harbey and Oliver Berry. In the play Humphrey Davey the pre-eminent scientist, pilchard addict and Penzance boy, requests the pleasure of your attendance at his legendary lecture at London?s Royal Institute. Here he will demonstrate the effects of his latest discovery ? nitrous oxide, more commonly known as laughing gas. But revolution spreads through the city.
