CALSTOCK started the first half brightly with an early goal when Stephen Cottingham was bought down in the box earning Calstock a penalty which was convincingly smashed into the back of the net by Gareth Layer.

Polperro were soon to earn a penalty after Stephen Cottingham fouled a Polperro player in the box.

Calstock keeper Michael Jones pulled off an excellent save, but but the defence were unable to stop the follow up shot from going in allowing Polperro to equalise.

At half time Calstock made a substitution, Paul Cottingham coming off for the injured Sean Hartley.

In the second half Polperro immediately put pressure on the Calstock defence. Calstock conceded a corner which proved to be costly after Polperro curled the ball in dropping to a Polperro player in the 18 yard box who took full advantage of being unmarked and scored to put Polperro 2-1 up. Possession was even between the two sides throughout the half with both teams creating a handful of chances, despite this Calstock were struggling to find the back of the net.

In the dying minutes Polperro conceded a corner which was taken by Shane Richards which Stephen Cottingham headed on to the crossbar; the ball dropped to Calstock sub Barry Hemmett, who duly slotted the ball in to earn an important point. Calstock man of the match went to striker Ross Lavers
