Okehampton first XI 2 Okehampton second XI 2 THE seconds started positively and soon went close through Nick Luxton. The firsts took the lead when a goalmouth scramble resulted in Tom Forrester tucking the ball away. Not downhearted the seconds continued to stifle their opponents with dogged work from their midfield players. The pressure finally paid off when Mark Parsons drove a free hit straight to Luxton, who deflected the ball past the keeper. The second half could not have started any better for the Seconds as Jacob Lloyd gave them a well deserved lead but the Firsts came back but a resolute defence held firm. The Seconds eventually created more chances, with a Stuart Jarvis cross nearly being converted by Lloyd. Parsons was foiled twice by First's stand in goalkeeper Dave Dennis. With the last hit of the game the Firsts clinched an equaliser when Simon Garland converted Forrester's pass. Although not a win for the Seconds the result shows just how far they have come in a year. Man of the match Will Spry.
