Lamerton 4
St Cleer 1
LAMERTON'S good run continued with their ninth game unbeaten which has seen them climb to second in the table and remain on all cup competitions.
Against St Cleer on a heavy pitch Lamerton started brightly but missed their opportunities to go ahead. On 25 minutes, against the run of play, St Cleer broke away to score from and a shot from outside the area, which took a defection and into the net.
Lamerton carried on playing good football and a through ball from Rich Searle was met by Blair Vanstone who rounded the defender and scored the equaliser.
St Cleer came out in the second half the stronger side and nearly went ahead with a scramble in the box but a bit of luck and a good save from Pete Daniels kept the game level.
Lamerton's break thorough came when Vanstone went through on goal and was brought down by a St Cleer defender for a penalty, which was calmly converted by James Steer.
The visitors were chasing the game for the last 10 minutes but Lamerton defence held strong and they broke away, ending with Alex Lowe scoring the third goal, when his hard work paid off with him beating a defender and side footed in.
Lamerton's fourth soon followed with Steer's run down the left and his shot was saved by the keeper but then he lobbed the ball to the back post for Vanstone to head in his second.
