Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Tavistock 1 St Blazey 1 Tavistock and St Blazey shared the points at Langsford Park on Saturday and on balance this was probably a fair reflection of the game. However, both teams left the field feeling harshly treated by the  officials. In a first half bereft of many chances, Tavistock were in the ascendancy, particularly probing down the right flank through Krac and McPherson. It was the former who linked up with Arscott, acquitting himself well in a midfield holding role that produced one of the few moments of quality, but his shot flashed wide. After the interval St Blazey started to take control with Tavistock losing a little shape, but two decisions could have changed the game. At one end Tavistock were denied what appeared to be strong claims for a penalty on Ryan Honey but almost immediately the ball went up the other end and the referee saw an infringement and pointed to the spot. As on many previous occasions Andy Meeds made the save to keep the score level. With the game petering out Hobbs broke clear on the right evaded a challenge and crossed and while Will Stringer miss kicked with the goal at his mercy, Ryan Honey was on hand to fire home. Alas, Tavistock held their lead for barely two minutes. There was a suspicion of hand ball in the build up and with the home defence appealing Blazey tapped in the equaliser. Chances came at both ends as the game drifted to a stalemate but this was a much improved performance from a changed Tavistock team. Man of the match: Luke McPherson, who showed great drive and enthusiasm. l Next week the Lambs are away to Ivybridge.
