SOUTH West Lakes Trust recently invited local trout fisherman to be part of a review of trout angling on lakes managed by the charity.
South West Lakes Trust is consulting with employees, volunteers, season ticket anglers and other interested parties on issues facing trout angling.
Andy Parsons, head of operations for the trust, said: 'The trust is keen to continue providing value for money trout fishing experiences at the sites we manage but are fully aware that the continued strains on everyone's purse are preventing some local people from enjoying their pastime. Everybody was given the opportunity to discuss issues such as: affordability, range and location of fishing experiences, how the costs of travelling impacts on their ability to take part and how to promote angling to a wider audience.
The trust hopes the event will help inform its trout angling strategy to provide a secure future for trout fishing in a changing economy.
