Whitchurch v Exmouth WHITCHURCH and Exmouth Ladies fielded a friendly cricket match at Whitchurch Cricket Club recently. The teams were mixed and the display of cricket was equal to any premiership game. Top level bowling, on a very rough wicket, due to a recent downpour kept both teams to below 140 runs each. Everyone who played really enjoyed the day and were able to appreciate the practice at the crease. Exmouth attended with six of their regular players and an enthusiastic nine-year-old boy Nicky who bowled, fielded, batted and umpired on the day. A very busy chap indeed! Tavistock had a selection of their ever increasing team present on the field. Any female who is interested in playing cricket for the 2006/2007 season is invited to attend the club on any given training session during the season for practice. Practice nights are on a Friday evening from 6.30pm at the Whitchurch Cricket Club. On September 10 there is a friendly 8-a-side tournament, arranged to help promote and encourage women in cricket.
