Tavistock Ladies 1st XI 1
Plymouth 2nd XI 3
TAVISTOCK, without their usual goalkeeper and a player short, started their friendly well. Susannah Harland took up the goalie's position for the first half, but unfortunately let one in within the first 10 minutes.
This rallied Tavistock. The ball was worked well down the right between Steph Mills, Sue Cork and Louise Bott.
The lack of the extra player led to Plymouth's second goal, when a player was left unmarked on the far side of the goal.
Tavistock had some penalty corners but no goals were forthcoming. After the break Sue Cork took over in goal and Tavistock changed their formation. Playing four in midfield allowed them to close down Plymouth earlier and prevent any break-through. Laura Armstrong worked the ball well down the left and put good crosses into the circle.
Plymouth got their third goal towards the end of the second half.
Tavistock still did not give up and were dangerous on the break. They were awarded more penalty corners but were not quick enough to beat the defence running out.
In the final minute, Tavistock were awarded a free hit just outside the Plymouth circle. Steph Mills played the ball square to Susannah Harland who received it just inside the top of the circle and hit it straight into the back of the goal.
