On checking West Devon Borough Council's website all I could find was a list of candidates, their addresses and their political affiliations or none.
I have also pursued the matter on the website suggested on the poll card received from the council where there was again no further information to be gained.
Surely in any public election we should know more about each candidate, why they think they should be appointed PCC, what they envisage the position would entail and how they would deal with it, as well as information of their basic background.
I cannot imagine that under these circumstances many people will be able to make a considered choice. Is this really a democratic process?
