SATURDAY was the date for Okehampton Golf Club's Charles Pedrick Shield, a four-ball better ball event.
It was won by Kevin Perryman and Chris Pike with a net score of 57, 11 under par.
Results: 1, K Perryman, C Pike, 57; 2, M White, K Wills, 58; 3, G Pengelly, A Hawking 58.
The summer matchplay events at Okehampton are also nearing completion with four finals played over the last couple of weeks.
The first winners were Alan Jones and Jenny Hutchinson who won the Luxmore Cup mixed knockout with a 2 and 1 victory over Ray Piper and Cherry James in the final.
The final of the Brown Can produced a superb performance by Lloyd Thomas who won 6 and 5 over Fred Scott-Lawson.
The other two knockout finals to be played were dominated by the File family with David File taking the spoils in the Kennard Summer Cup with victory over Richard Mcfarlane, and the family foursomes cup was won by David and Duncan File, who overcame the Cornwall brothers, Kevin and Colin.
This week's Saturday competition is the monthly medal and Kennard Summer Cup qualifier.
