Kelly athletes in top third at regional cross country

FOUR Kelly College pupils competed for Devon on Saturday at the South West Schools' Cross Country Championships, held at Truro School.

There were 70 runners representing seven counties in all races.

In the minor boys' race (year seven), Jordan Channon finished eighth, Harry Dunlop, 20th and Josh Boon 21st, a superb effort from all boys. 

This Devon Minor boy team finished second, just four points behind the winners, Somerset.

In the intermediate girls race, Ellen Riis White (year 10) finished 25th — an excellent performance running against many girls a year older than herself. 

All four athletes performed superbly and were a real credit to the both the school and themselves. 

The three boys, plus Jordan Shakespeare, were due to run for Kelly College at the Stover cross country on Tuesday.
