STAFF and volunteers at Margaret Green Animal Rescue's Wingletang Centre, Brentor, are preparing for their annual companion dog show on Sunday, June 8. The charity hopes the show will be the 'best yet', as it is a major event in its fundraising calendar, and always proves to be a fun day for all the family. Gates open at 11am, and judging commences at noon, and will run until 4.30pm. Entrance is £1.50 for adults and 50p for children. The dog show will be a special one this year as Alan and Niki, managers at Wingletang, celebrate 20 years working for the charity. Niki said: 'We are really looking forward to our dog show this year. It is great to see so many people on the day coming to take part with their dogs, many of whom were rehomed from here.' Margaret Green Animal Rescue has been rescuing and rehoming animals in Devon and Dorset since 1965. Events like the dog show raise much needed funds for the charity which sees more than 1,200 animals each year re-homed to new, loving families.
