TAVISTOCK Athletic Club held their awards ceremony presentation evening for their junior members at The Red and Black Club in Tavistock last week.
Adam Tofield, the club's juniors' head coach told the Times: 'Tavistock Athletic Club has had another successful season with some outstanding results and the spirit of the club is as high as ever. With more coaches being recruited into the club and more athletes being brought in, there are now around 70 juniors, the club is expanding in all departments and we are all very much looking forward to the completion of the track.'
The main awards were: Most promising male, George White and Tom Gill (joint winners), runner up, Harrison Baker; most promising female, Jodie Stacey, runner up, Natalia Ridgeway; effort male, Dean Smith, runner up, Ben Brown; effort female, Jasmine Edwards and Sarah Hornby, runner up, Jodie Stacey; improve-ment male, Matt Harding, runner up, George Speake; improvement female, Sarah Hornby, runner up, Amber Friendship; achievement male, George White and Tom Lawson; achievement female, Rebecca Windermer, runner up, Jodie Stacey; outstanding female, Claire Fraser; Robin and Carrie trophy, Sammy Fraser.
The following received a small keepsake trophy for entering the Indoor Sports hall competition: Ellie Drage, Francesca Herdman, Isobel Argyles, Jasmine Edwards, Jodie Stacey, Olivia Bates, Sarah Davies, Kate Williams, Lauren Dillon, Tara Twine, Amber Friendship, Claire Fraser, Fran Kelly, Melissa Quick, Rebecca Cox, Tessa Young, Leonie Isaacs, George White, Harry Herdman, Callum Mackeller, Dean Smith, Harrison Baker.
There were also keepsake trophies for the best in age athletes, who recorded the most points for the club in their age groups: U10 girls, Ellie Drage; U11 girls, Amber Friendship, U13 girls, Tessa Young; U15 girls Leonie Isaacs; overall best indoor girl (most points out of all the Tavistock AC girls), Ellie Drage. U10 boys, George White; U11 boys, Nathan Turnock; U13 boys, Dean Smith; overall best indoor boy (most points out of all the club's AC boys), George White.
