A SPECIAL feature of the tenth Gardening Club Show of the Bere Ferrers Horticultural Society were classes reflecting the Queen's Jubilee and the Olympic Games celebrations.

Some ingenious exhibits were presented, and people showing for the first time were welcomed, especially in such a difficult growing season.

Thanks were expressed to the judges whose expertise was appreciated. Exhibits were down in some classes or even non-existent due to the extreme weather conditions.

Children Amelia Howard, Harriott Smith, Joshua Howard and Amber Schumacher were deemed 'stars' for working extremely hard on their numerous exhibits.

There was a sale of plants and home-made refereshments and a raffle, to help towards the show's expenses. Sincere thanks were expressed to all concerned.

Brian Lamb presented the trophies to the winners.
