APRIL has seen Umberto Bergonzini, instructor of the Ju Jitsu Tavistock Club, run his first open workshop.

Umberto said: 'Some time ago I was asked by members of another jujitsu club in Plymouth to run a workshop on kihon kata (basic forms) to complement their martial arts knowledge.

'I was flattered by the request and I am glad I accepted because the day turned out to be a very positive experience for everyone involved.'

The club meets on Tuesdays between 7.30pm and 9pm and Thursdays between 8pm and 9pm.
