CHILDREN in Winkleigh enjoyed a festive morning of fun thanks to the teamwork of two childminding groups.
Bluecoat Children's Centre and Winkleigh Pre-School teamed up with Winkleigh Mothers and Toddlers and local childminders to hold a special Christmas party on December 20 at Winkleigh Sports Centre. Youngsters got to enjoy games, arts and crafts, tasty treats and a special visit from Father Christmas.
The Bluecoat Children's Centre, based in Torrington, holds a Winkleigh Discoverers outreach session each Thursday morning in the sports centre, with around 20 children attending each week. During their last scheduled meeting of 2012, they decided to host a joint Christmas party for Winkleigh's youngsters.
Trudy Saunders, in charge of the pre-school, said: 'It is very much a group effort this morning, with the lovely ladies from Bluecoat, ourselves and childminders from Winkleigh. It has been a fun morning, but hectic as these things often are. I'm looking forward to the Christmas break!'
