TAVISTOCK Rotary Club will be hosting the 15th annual Tavistock five mile race and junior fun run next month.

A long-established part of Tavistock Carnival Week, the five-mile race will take place on Sunday, July 10 beginning at 10am at the West Devon Council Offices at Kilworthy Park and will follow its usual route to Mill Hill via the railway walk. The 1.2-mile fun run will start 10 minutes after the race.

Race organiser David Tout, of Tavistock Rotary Club, said: ‘Many very high quality runners have taken part in the five-mile race over the years and the winner always knows that they have been in a good race. Equally important though, the fun run has provided inspiration for many hundreds of young runners in the past 15 years.

‘All of our runners will receive a medal and the five-mile runners will automatically be entered for a free draw for a cream tea for two at the Bedford Hotel.’

As always mums and dads are welcome to run with the youngsters. Entry forms are available from Active Sports in Duke Street, from www.tamartrotters.co.uk or from [email protected]
