THE dynamic Celtic funk band Jiggerypipery will be playing at Chagford?s Jubilee Hall tomorrow (Friday) to promote their new album The Drift.

The band?s unique and highly danceable sound has already earned praise from the likes of Andy Kershaw.

Central to Jiggerypipery?s distinctive style is James Robertson?s Great Highland bagpipes. Mix this with the hard core, driving drumming of ex-Boomtown Rat Simon Crowe; the fiddle playing of Carl Allerfeldt; Peter Bingham?s bass guitar and the cittern of Tony Bayliss and you have an explosive cocktail of unmissable music.

The sounds range from slow airs to pulsating, driving reels.

The event is being promoted by Not-the-Chagford-Arts-Festival. Doors open at 8pm and the band begins at 9pm. Tickets from Youlds Newsagents in Chagford or by calling Kate Wilson on 01647 281 681.
