Tavistock Thistles 2
Woodford Colts....................2
AFTER a dreadful start, Thistles were looking to get their season back on track, and started the game positively, with midfielders Josh Leeson, Ben O'Neill and Jonny Hake dictating, and looking to link up with wide men Sam Hortopp and Tom Parry.
The breakthrough came from a Parry corner. Thistles players were queuing up to score, but it was Leeson who applied the finishing touch.
The defence of Sam Newton, Ed Argles, Jay Lambert and Cadan Lowther looked composed. However, Colts drew level when keeper, Jack Haigh failed to hold on to a hopeful free kick.
Tavistock looked to re-establish a lead. Lone striker Sam Walker came close when running on to through balls, but it was another set piece that gave Thistles a half-time lead. Leeson lined up a free kick 25 yards out, and slotted the ball into the top corner with pinpoint accuracy.
The second half saw Woodford in search of an equaliser, and substitutes Nick Cunningham, Scott Carr and Louis Wilson showed determination to keep them at bay. But they hit back midway through the half when a deep lob dipped just under the bar.
Brave keeping and resolute defending kept Woodford at bay, as Thistles held on for a well deserved point.

THISTLES recorded back-to-back victories after staging a comeback in this league match. Thistles took the lead when Kieran Calvert, who made a welcome return to form, slotted home a fine cross by Will Lane.
Unfortunately, Thistles seemed to think the match would be an easy stroll in the sun and Tamerton took advantage of this complacency — Burke scored the first of his two goals.
With Thistles on the back-foot, Burke found the net for the second time to give Tamerton a 2-1 lead at half-time.
After words from coach Mick Calvert Thistles were a different proposition in the second half. Corey Hancock was working hard up front and from one of his darting runs Thistles created the equaliser.
Corey took the ball to the by-line before sending over a perfect cross, which Kieran Calvert smacked into the roof of the net.
From a Tamerton headed clearance, Nathan Holland side-footed a well placed shot from outside the box that went into the top corner of the goal via the post.
Tamerton came back and Burke raced clear and looked like he would hit the equaliser. Roger Blandford was quickly off his line to narrow the angle and pull off a match-winning save.
Blandford came to Thistles' rescue a few minutes later as he parried another shot from Burke.
Thistles' Connor Hall and Mikey Henderson were exceptional in defence and Corey Hancock won the man of the match award.
