THERE will be bargains galore at a special event being held in Buckland Monachorum this weekend, which will raise much needed funds for the Children?s Hospice South West. The big charity sale is taking place in the village hall on Saturday February 25 ? doors open at 2.30pm. Linda Downing, chairman of Buckland Monachorum Friends of Children?s Hospice, said: ?People have given us such smashing items, there really will be many, many bargains! ?We are really pulling out all the stops now to help build the second hospice.? Linda said there would be a huge variety of items on sale including china, glass, toys, pictures, videos, CDs, kitchenware, linens, and for the first time, the group is holding a jewellery stall. Admission to the sale costs just 20p. All money raised by the sale will be put towards the £15 million target to build a second Children?s Hospice at Charlton Farm near Bristol. Work on the hospice is going well and the Buckland Friends group has been invited to the topping-out ceremony at the farm on March 25.
