Plymouth YMCA U13s 1
Tavistock Town U13s 2
TAVISTOCK took the lead from match captain Olly Tugwell collecting the ball in the opponents' half and slotting it past the keeper.
It was a heavy pitch in the middle of the park and midfielders Tom Green and Luke Shalgoski worked hard to feed Ben Cole and Billy Barriball up front.
The rest of the first half was even between the two teams, but Town almost went 2-0 up when Seth McNamara's great long range shot taken on the turn went over the head of the keeper, only to hit the corner of the post.
In the second half, YMCA scored from a poorly defended corner which was headed in from an unmarked striker. Tavistock had most of the play in the rest of the half, with Josh MacDonald in goal not having too much to do thanks to the defence of Will Carter, Danny Hamill, Rob Bone, and Taylor Kingham working well as a unit. Sam O'Boyle and Danny Rowe had a good game taking on players and crossing balls in to the box.
Tavistock's second goal came from Tugwell's well delivered cross, for man of the match Rowe to smash it past the keeper to earn Town another three points and their first away win of the season.
