IT was another record year for the Christmas Tree Festival staged at St Eustachius' Church, Tavistock.

The event, now in its sixth year, is organised and run by the Friends of St Eustachius' Church and always proves popular and well supported.

The winner of the most voted for Christmas tree this year went to the Tavistock Community Primary and Nursery School — which was dedicated to remembering the First World War.

In second place was Tavistock Church Schools Federation and in third place was the Tavy Turners and Carvers Club.

Figures will be released shortly on how much the event has raised but it is expected to have exceeded last year.

Thanks were expressed to all the helpers, volunteers, the local community and visitors for their support.
