ONCE again scarecrows have begun to appear around Bratton Clovelly as part of the lead up to the village's 'It Must Be Fete' Event.
Scarecrows depicting various comic situations or famous characters were first seen in the village as part of last year's diamond jubilee celebrations and they are set to become a yearly feature.
Bratton Clovelly's Fete, being held from noon to 4pm on Sunday, May 19, raises money for Devon Air Ambulance by Donations at the gate.
Held on the parish field, which has this year been adopted into the Queen Elizabeth Field Trust, the event will include a dog show, bouncy castle, free children's activities such as a crockery smash, coconut shy, games, activities and races and a pork roast, Devon teas, ice-cream and stalls selling fudge, honey, and other goods.
It is hoped that 'It Must Be Fete' will grow from year to year.
