DARTMOOR Search and Rescue Team Tavistock were called by South West Ambulance Service Trust to assist them with an injured young women near Poundsgate last Wednesday.

The team was called at around 6.15pm to help an 18-year-old female at Yar Tor Down.

As DSRT Tavistock members were already en-route to training in the opposite direction, they alerted DSRT Ashburton who would be able to provide a quicker response.

When the Ashburton team arrived, they found the young lady, who had suffered a lower leg injury a couple of hours previously, was extremely cold in the exposed snowy conditions.

First Aid treatment was provided and she was stretchered to the ambulance at the roadside.
