TAVISTOCK residents are being asked to look out for an injured peregrine falcon who has escaped from a home in the town.
Guinevere was taken in by Alastair Henderson, from Tavistock, two years ago after she was disabled when she was shot with an air pistol.
Mr Henderson, who rehabilitates wild injured birds of prey mostly on behalf of Westmoor Veterinary Hospital, said that Guinevere went missing at approximately 4.30pm on Monday (January 28).
‘Given the degree of his disability she is likely to be restricted to the Tavistock / Tavy Valley area as she is only able to flutter from perch to perch. Due to her injuries she flies not as a peregrine falcon should and flies more in circles.
‘Her injury is permanent and she is disabled and cannot fend for herself in the wild.’
If anyone has spotted Guinevere, please call Mr Henderson on 01822 614619.
