EXBOURNE will join other rural communities this month in hosting regular events which bring local services to residents. The multi-agency surgeries, which are a West Devon Borough Council initiative, will launch on Thursday April 17, from 10am until 2pm at Exbourne Village Hall, when organisations such Devon Pound, Citizens'Advice Bureau, Digital UK/Switchover, South West Water, Devon and Cornwall Police and Devon and Somerset Fire Service will be bringing their services to the community. Also at the event will be a council housing advice officer, who will be offering specialist help and advice, and West Devon Connect's customer service advisors, who can assist with all council related queries. Following the launch, surgeries will be held on the first Friday of every month, from 10am until noon at the village hall, alongside the Burrow Café, stores and Post Office. West Devon Borough councillor for Exbourne, Cllr David Weeks, said: 'Over the past 12 months the Outreach Surgeries have been a huge success. It was always our intention to broaden the service and I am delighted it has been possible to extend to a really rural location. Following the Launch Event, residents will be able to seek help and advice on a monthly basis and I urge them to take full advantage.'
