A STAGGERING £8,523.61 was raised this year thanks to the Horn of Plenty’s charity lunches in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support at Derriford Hospital.
Over the past eight years, the Horn of Plenty at Gulworthy has supported the charity with these lunches.
Owner Julie Leivers said: ‘This year, from January to March, we have raised a staggering £8,523.61 for people living with cancer in Devon. This brings our grand total to an amazing £62,239.96. We couldn’t be more proud! A huge thanks to everyone who has supported us.’
This year’s fundraising will be used to help fund a support worker at Derriford Hospital.
Macmillan fundraiser Jo Anne Rigby added: ‘It is amazing how much The Horn of Plenty has raised this year. They are Macmillan’s top donating supporter in 2019 in Devon so far and one of Macmillan’s longest standing local supporters here in the South West.
‘Everyday another person hears the devastating news that they have a cancer diagnosis.
‘The money raised by the generous customers at the Horn of Plenty really does go a long way to help Macmillan in the work that we do. I cannot thank Julie, her team and customers enough for their support.’
