THREE rugby matches between Mount House School and Kelly College ended with honours even, each school winning one and the other game ending with no score.

In the match between Mount House First XV and Kelly U13s, a greasy ball made it difficult to play a handling passing game and much of the first half became a forward slog, with only Ollie Sale's try separating the sides.

In the second half the Mount House forwards gained the upper hand. Harry Sharp extended the Mount House lead midway through the half, and again two minutes later after a great passage of play involving at least 20 passes or offloads. There was no way back for Kelly and Mount House deservedly ran out 19-0 winners.

Despite the 0-0 score line, Mount House 2nd XV's encounter with Kelly U12s was a good game with all the right ingredients. The Mount House defensive tackling was good, and the backs looked threatening.

An early injury saw Ben Birkin make his debut in a Mount House pack that dominated in both lineout and scrum, but a slippery ball proved too difficult for the backs to hold on to.

Outstanding performances for Mount House came from Gus de Falbe playing flanker and Harry Newman in the backs, but neither team was able to break the deadlock and the 0-0 result was probably a fair one.

The Colts B game was very competitive. The Mount House forwards competed well in the scrum and at the breakdown, and the backs made some ferocious tackles to contain Kelly's strong-running centre who was really the difference between the sides. The match was won by the only score – a try from Kelly for a 5-0 win.
