HISTORIC plans and documents relating to St Peter’s Church at Meavy will be available to look at as part of an open day on Saturday (July 23).

There will be a full programme of events throughout the day with refreshments available, lunchtime barbecue, church trails and guided walks in the churchyard to examine the flora and memorial stones.

‘We don’t open our safe very often to get out our historic plans and documents, but they will be available for inspection during our open day,’ said the rector of Meavy Rev Preb Nick Shutt.

‘Our local school has a display in church and we are looking forward to this church and community event being a great success.’
