Tavistock 2nds 6 Tavistock 3rds 0 THIS was a historical day when two Tavistock hockey sides played a league match. Tavistock 2nds, who were the hosts on this occasion, have been on a roll for the previous four weeks and were looking to maintain the same standard. The Tavistock 2nd side were on top of their game and decided to attack from the beginning. It took a while for the 3rd side to settle into their networking style of play and when avoiding the rampaging 2nds, worked the ball well down both flanks. The returning and ever youthful Bellard slotted the first goal after some nice interplay. Further goals from Holland, Edwards and Wickstead meant a healthy final score line was achieved but this was not done easily as the 3rds pressured the 2nd Xl and often broke through the midfield. Unfortunately scoring opportunities were minimilised due to the quality of the defence. This week the 2nd XI are away to PGSOB C and hope to maintain the momentum that is gaining some head of steam.
