WHITCHURCH Ladies' Open Group presented a cheque for £250 to a representative of Vision Aid Overseas at its annual meeting last week.

The money was raised by the group mainly from a jumble sale.

Vision Aid Overseas is a charity dedicated to helping people in the developing world whose lives are blighted by poor eyesight.

Volunteer optometrists and dispensing opticians are sent abroad to set up clinics, screen many patients and provide appropriate spectacles.
