TAVISTOCK Hospital League of Friends has presented the hospital with a portable defibrillator costing £2,880. The item of equipment is the latest in a long list the friends have provided in their support for the hospital and midwifery services. Other items bought during 2004 ? totalling around £4,000 ? included an Airmatic recliner chair, three portable televisions, doppler equipment and medical sundries, parent and patient educational equipment, daily newspapers, floral displays and a donation to buy Christmas gifts and additional festive trimmings. The friends thanked everyone who had supported their fundraising efforts, saying they hoped to continue in their supportive role. They are in need of practical support and anyone who could spare a couple of hours a week or month to help in the outpatient waiting room tea bar is asked to contact Janet on 01822 613856.
