TEAMS are wanted to take part in a tug of war competition at Okehampton's Golden Jubilee celebrations on Sunday.
The event is open to local hostelries and clubs but so far only the Plume of Feathers has entered a team.
So don't be a spoil sport — come and join in the fun at Simmons Park. It costs £1 a head to enter a team and there is a £50 first prize and £25 second prize.
Okehampton Hamlets Parish Council, which is arranging the competition, is also offering free food to parishioners of the hamlets following an ecumenical Jubilee Praise by Christians Together in Simmons Park.
The barbecue and buffet, from 12.30pm, is also available to people from outside the hamlets but donations will be asked for.
Mayor of Okehampton Christine Marsh will be opening an afternoon of activities in the park for children at 1.30pm.
