DEVON Heartlands has moved into Okehampton, setting up a brand new office in the town hall. The body set up under the Market and Coastal Town Initiative (MCTI) programme can offer advice and help for projects identified in the area action plan and for other businesses which want to grow and become involved in regenerating the area. The new office is being run part time on Mondays, Tuesday afternoons and Thursdays. The organisation will still have a presence in North Tawton on Tuesday mornings in its previous base at the North Tawton Development Trust. However, it was felt Okehampton was the natural centre town for the MCTI project and so the switch from North Tawton was made. Devon Heartlands says the new office will allow it to work closely with Okehampton and District Chamber of Trade and Okehampton Town Council.
