A CONSULTATION event is to be held next week, aimed at giving residents the chance to have their say on how a site at Yelverton should be developed.

The consultation event, on May 29, will give residents the chance to comment on the design and layout of a housing development on land adjacent to Briar Tor.

People are being asked what they think about how the .95 hectare site should be developed in line with the allocation of the site within Dartmoor National Park's development management document.

Use of the land has already been through a consultation process and examination by a planning inspector.

The site is being promoted by Trand (UK) Ltd and will be developed for open market housing and affordable housing.

It is not yet known how many houses will be built on the land — this will be determined by a housing needs survey currently being carried out by the Community Council of Devon, on behalf of Buckland Monachorum Parish Council.

There will also be the opportunity to register interest in occupying one of the new affordable homes.

Trand (UK) Ltd will be holding the consultation in the common room at Briar Tor, where residents can find out more about the proposed development and give their views.

The community exhibition takes place between 2pm and 8pm — all are welcome.
