TAVISTOCK got off to a flying start last Tuesday, when their first attack in the second minute, resulted in a corner kick. Martyn Sullivan's in swinging corner from the left, found Andy Sargent, whose glancing header flew into the net to open the scoring.

Four minutes later the Lambs were two up, when a defence splitting pass from Dan Pethick found Sargent, who saw the home keeper off his goal line and produced a perfect lob over him into the empty net. In the 12th minute the Lambs were awarded a free kick on the right 30 yards from goal, Dave Hallett's perfect cross into the penalty area found Dan Pethick who scored with a great header, giving the keeper no chance, to make it 3-0. Shortly afterwards Paul Chuwen replaced Dave Hallett and Ivybridge began to get more possession.

Jamie Castle in the Lambs goal made good saves from shots on goal from outside the penalty area. In the 38th minute the home team opened their account when a fine run by Sutton, who cut inside two defenders, before firing a fierce shot, which Jamie Castle managed to get a hand too, but could not prevent it from finding the corner of the net. Two minutes later a great move between Dan Pethick and Andy Sargent saw the latter powering into the penalty area where he pulled to the ground by Town's centre back, the referee immediately pointed to the spot. Sargent stepped up to blast the ball into the roof of the net to complete his hat trick, and make it 4-1 to the Lambs.

The Lambs nearly made it five when Sargent had a goal bound shot deflected for a corner. Shortly before the interval, visitors captain Jamie Ahern had to be replaced, due to a back injury. Paul Quinn taking his place at the centre of defence.

Ivybridge came out with more determination and vigour in the second half and their efforts were rewarded in the 49th minute, when Sutton got his second with a header, which Castle who had no chance of saving. The visitors lost their way for a period, but with the in form Jamie Castle producing a couple of fine saves to prevent the home team gaining any more momentum.

In the 60th minute a long ball from Castle was not dealt with the home teams centre backs, which allowed Johnny Wyatt to break clear and dispatch a great 20 yard drive into the corner of the net. Five minutes later the Lambs were awarded a free kick 24 yards from goal, the kick was taken very quickly and found Martyn Sullivan, his shot was parried by the keeper but Dan Pethick was following in and stabbed the ball home from eight yards.

Jamie Castle then made two great saves to prevent the home side from reducing the arrears in the 76th and 80th minute, but it was the Lambs that finished the game in style.
