ONE of the most exciting guitarists to have emerged in recent years, will be performing at Kelly College next week, with a recital for the concert society.
Renowned for delighting audiences with her fluid technique and expressive playing, Alison Smith has performed nationwide and in Europe. Her CD titled Recuerdos has been highly successful and promises much for the upcoming event.
The concert, which will take place on October 17, is the latest in Alison's impressive line of events that include festivals and celebrations of music, such as Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra's 30-year anniversary celebration. Most recently she played at the 2011 Exeter Guitar Summer School, The Ards International Guitar Festival, Belfast, and was guest soloist at the West Lothian Guitarfest.
Alison taught guitar and coached chamber music at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and has given performances and talks as a guest artist at Plymouth University.
