A FREE evening walk guided by the ranger in Lydford Forest is being organised by local charity Westden and the Forestry Commission on Thursday June 30. Walkers will visit the butterfly sanctuary and learn about the wide range of interesting plants and animals that thrive in the beautiful wooded valley. The walk will be led by Forestry Commission ranger Glyn Bradbury and works supervisor Dave Powell, who will talk about plans for the sustainable management of the forest and the wildlife it supports. The hour and a half-long ramble is open to everyone. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads. Walkers should wear sensible footwear and meet at the picnic site car park in Lydford Forest at 6.30pm. Glyn Bradbury said: ?The forest is a fantastic resource for people and for wildlife. We hope you will be able to join us and share the beauty and diversity of this lovely wooded valley.
