THE? inaugural Chagford Grub Club, which took place earlier this month at the town's Jubilee Hall, saw more than 100 diners enjoy three courses prepared by Michelin trained chef Josh McDonald-Johnson.
All of the ingredients used, including goats' meat, seasonal squash and raw honey, were sourced from Chagfarm and Chagfood, two local community groups based within a half-mile of the venue.
Diners included the Mayor of West Devon, Cllr Christine Marsh and her daughter Caroline Mott.
Cllr Christine Marsh said: 'It has been a pleasure to see the local community come together in this way to celebrate the excellent produce of Chagford.
'I wish Josh and his team the best of luck in his venture to bring top-quality food to the tables of local communities.'
Josh was equally as pleased with the outcome of the evening. He said: 'I've been blown away by how well received this event has been and the support that I have had in organising it. I am optimistic that the Chagford Grub Club will become a regular event on the town's calendar.'
Davon Friend and Ed Hamer, founders of Chagfarm and Chagfood respectively, were also amongst the diners.
The next Chagford Grub Club will take place on Saturday, November 15 in the Jubilee Hall.
