BUSINESSES and other organisations are being encouraged to attend a conference which aims to demonstrate that good environmental management also makes good business sense.
It will focus on transport, waste, energy and water — four key environmental issues.
A series of Devon case studies will be supported by practical workshop sessions, and speakers will come from Derriford Hospital, the University of Exeter and Barnstaple-based Leaderflush and Shapland Ltd — who won last year's DEBI Award for Waste Minimisation.
The conference will also see the Environmental Awards launch, with categories of waste management, conservation, education and awareness, and sustainable tourism.
In addition, there is a main award chosen from the category winners for the greatest overall improvement and most exciting innovation in environmental performance.
The total prize fund is £2,500 and both the conference and awards are open to members and non-members of DEBI.
