AROUND 750 people descended on Tavistock College’s sports field this weekend for Tavifest — a two-day music festival raising money for Pancreatic Cancer Action.

Mad Dog Mcrea headlined the festival, supported by Russell Sinclair and The Smokin’ Locos, along with various acts, including LEO — aka MJ, Lorraine Live, 9 Yards and a Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams tribute act.

Organiser of the festival Jean Keast said: ‘We sold around 500 tickets for the two days and including under 16s over 750 people attended. We still have money coming in but I anticipate that after all the bills have been paid, we will be sending at least £600 to Pancreatic Cancer Action.

‘To say we are overwhelmed by the response and feedback we have had this year is an understatement.

‘We will be back next year and with the support we are gaining now, we will be able to make a real difference to Pancreatic Cancer Action donations.’

Jean expressed thanks to all the businesses who sponsored and supported the event and made donations.
