MEMBERS of the Bere Ferrers Women's Institute have been celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, and their festivities are continuing with a celebratory church service and a 'bring and share' lunch.

The service, led by Sheila Gay, will be held in St Andrew's Church, celebrating 'Women and their contribution to the community'.

This will be followed by a bring and share lunch for all WI members, their families and friends in the church hall.

At the lunch, Bere Ferrers WI will launch its 50th anniversary book, in which will be a photograph of each member and a few words about their life in 1960 — the year the WI started. The service at 11am on Sunday, October 10 will be followed by the lunch after at 12.30pm.
