TAVISTOCK Foodbank would like to thank everyone, volunteers and customers, for their tremendous support on Thursday, October 10 at the Morrisons store.

Morrisons kindly agreed to us holding a one-off collection, topping ourselves up for Christmas, and we were once again staggered by the generosity and depth of feeling displayed by the public.

Together with a collection from Tavistock College, we collected a whopping half tonne of food. The event also gave us the opportunity to talk to the public, who are genuinely interested in the plight of individuals within our own community. Having this opportunity to explain how the system works and why it is needed, really helped their understanding and I'm sure the message will spread that we are here to help.

We featured heavily in the local community harvest festival collections as well, and for this we are extremely grateful.
