TAVISTOCK and Villages Development Initiative has helped a local charity with a much needed grant to provide water boilers to its centre in town.
The boilers at Tavistock Area Support Services' Anchorage Centre will make a huge difference to volunteers as they make hundreds of 'cuppas' a week.
With the development of the 'upper room' as a place for older people to drop in and have a cuppa and a chat on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings, the centre is now in constant use with numerous groups — making the boilers a useful tool in the running of the room.
Chris Kirwin from TaVi, said: 'TaVi is pleased to support the continued work of TASS as they reach older people living within our area, making a difference to their everyday life and giving hope for a better tomorrow.'
Andy Lyle, general manager of TASS, thanked TaVi for its support for the 'much needed piece of equipment', and said it would help TASS meet the increased demands on the 'numerous services on offer at the Anchorage Centre'.
