TORRIDGE District Council has announced that its Councillor Community Grants Scheme is open for another round of community grants.

The scheme enables councillors to become more involved and support local projects benefiting residents in their ward. Each councillor has been allocated a budget of £1,000.

Head of paid service at Torridge Jenny Wallace said: 'Voluntary or community groups serving residents in the Torridge District area are eligible and I would encourage them to apply for this grant.'

Councillors are able to join up with other ward councillors to support a wider project, and can offer up to 100% of the total project costs.

They may choose to award the whole of their £1,000 budget to one project, or break the fund down into smaller grants to a number of different projects.
