ALMOST £1,000 was raised during the Tavistock and district branch of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association's Flag Day. The street collection points on Saturday, April 12 were around Tavistock town centre, at a table in Tavistock Pannier Market, at Morrison's and a collection point at Focus. The collection totalled £989.38. A second collection was held on Sunday, April 13 at Focus. The amount raised from the day is included in the total. Nikki Watson, branch organiser, said: 'We would like to pass our grateful thanks to Steve Banzie and Sue Bailey of Morrisons; Andrew Pollard, manager of Focus, and the Tavistock market reeve Eddie Carruthers, for their help and support during this event and also a huge thanks to everyone who was so generous on the day.'
