THE mayor and deputy mayor of Tavistock have thanked town council staff for their hard work during Goose Fair.

On Wednesday, October 8, thousands flocked to Tavistock for the annual fair, which dates back to the early 12th century.

Mayor Cllr Harry Smith said he wanted to congratulate the town council staff on the brilliant organisation of Goose Fair: 'There is a lot of effort that's required to make the event a success, which it was. The overall feedback reflected a well run event enjoyed by those who attended.'

Deputy mayor Cllr Sue Bailey said: 'I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work during Goose Fair.'
