AS usual the second Wednesday in October meant we were off to Goose Fair. We spent quite a time at the cattle market where Ward and Chowen had included hand sheep shearing, the history of the heritage Dartmoor Ponies, and an ever increasing amount of poultry, including a large amount of geese.
A large array of some 25 stalls were set up around the market yard, selling all types of goods — you name it and it was there. I thought the Michaelmas Daisy stall very colourful, they were just what I wanted, so purchased some for my garden.
Congratulations to all the staff of Ward and Chowen, looking forward to next year.
