TAVISTOCK curate the Rev Geoff Boucher is to move to Somerset in February.
He has been in Tavistock four and a half years and has held services in Tavistock and Gulworthy. Curates have to serve for three years before they can have their own parishes. He will take his last service in Tavistock on February 18 and will leave after a farewell lunch in the parish centre. His new appointment is at West Monckton, near Taunton.
Mr Boucher came to Devon from Ridley Hall theological college at Cambridge and was married last year to Catherine Wright, who is also a priest and has also officiated at local services.
Rev Boucher said he had enjoyed his time in Tavistock and Gulworthy greatly and would miss the people he had got to know here. 'I have made a lot of friends and it has been an excellent place to have my first job in the church,' he said.
