MEAVY and Yelverton Pre-school is this week celebrating double success, after a successful Ofsted report and a funding boost.

The pre-school was given an overall 'good' rating, when inspectors said the children were 'happy and settled in the friendly, welcoming pre-school'.

The group has also received a grant from Britannia, part of the Co-operative Financial Services, for new equipment to boost the pre-school's numeracy department.

The pre-school operates from Meavy Parish Hall and is currently thriving due to new opening times —all day on a Monday and Thursday — thanks to hard work from the parent-run committee and staff.
